Félix Guyon has designed this crazy cool hangtag label chair. Folded up, it looks like–what else? A hangtag. Unfolded–and boom, you’ve got yourself some prime real estate.

Vintage Photo Collages

I’m not usually a fan of photo collages, but these cracked me up. I’ve always been a sucker for old vintage photos with animals heads on them. Via the “Frighten” shop on Etsy.

Car Crashes in the ’30s

DesignArk has a great humorous little curation of photos of Boston in the 1930s. Check out the DesignArk post to see a few other ways people were crashing their cars back then.

The photos are from the Boston Public Library which has a whole slew of goodies to check out.

Modern Vintage: Replace Face – Celebrities in Lieu of Russian Generals

Replace Face is by far one of the coolest blogs I’ve ever come across. The artist, (who’s name isn’t anywhere on his site) found a slew of great paintings by George Dawe who painted 329 portraits of Russian Generals that were active during Napoleon’s invasion of Russia. He gave them an entertaining modern twist by replacing their heads with today’s icons like Steve Jobs, Bruce Willis, Bill Murray, and so on. The photoshopping is flawless, making it an incredibly addictive blog to keep visiting to see new additions.

Wonderfully Cheesy Mens Magazines, 1950-60s

For men who want to hear the top news, but prefer that it look like a comic book and come with a steady stream of busty women.

Don’t worry, I decided to post these more for the humor than the design. The design is endearing I suppose. Every now and again gaudy old designs give me that cozy feeling from yesteryear, and they make good design look even better. I guess it’s like a palette cleanser.
