Believe it or not- these aren’t all Norman Rockwell’s work. After digging through hundreds of these, I’m convinced that the Rockwell “style” I grew up knowing is actually just the style of the Saturday Evening Post. I suppose one could argue Rockwell came along and made the Post fall in love with his work and they then turned around and told their other artists to mimic it.
Here are covers from 3 different artists:
I love the simplicity of these- both in the subject matter and the color palette. They put the icing on the cake with how they always break out of the space just a little with the artwork overlapping the magazine title. I love that! Anywho, there are so many great covers I’ve broken this up into 2 posts, so keep an eye out for more if you like these :)
These images are from all over and sadly no one seems to have sources, so I’m going to credit the original source, The Saturday Evening Post. There website actually has the full collection of covers over the years, the images are just a bit small though :/
