Via The Art of the Luggage Label on Flickr- you should check out their collection- it’s massive. They have somehow tracked down labels from literally every place and time. It’s pretty impressive.

Alvin Diec is one of my new favorite people. He does stunning work and clearly has a love for the inspiration vintage design brings. He incorporates aged details beautifully, having the perfect balance between modern and vintage. Check out his portfolio to see his other work.
This colorful chromolithograph is an original print (nope, not a reprint!) is for sale for only $30 via Bananastrudel on Etsy.. Talk about an affordable vintage stamp collection. :)
There are a couple of more close-up images inside the post! Continue reading →

I know this one is a bit odd, but it makes me happy! This poster is for the Forepaugh and Sells Brothers’ Circus in 1898 announcing their “congress of the giant birds of the world” not exhibited at any other show!
Come one, come all! See the full image inside the post.
This Spalding engraving is so sexy. I love the structure of design in sports. There’s always such a simple geometric pattern underneath. In this particular design I like how the ball’s stitching looks reminiscent of a laurel wreath. Okay, so maybe it’s a stretch, but I see it and I like thinking all design is well thought-out with deeper meaning and symbolism…even an American baseball bat. :)
Via Brandon Lesley’s Pinterest. I’m addicted to Pinterest, and finding board’s that are well curated with delicious vintage eye candy does not help my addiction. If you’re a pinner, check out his design board.
